Sunday 14 September saw our biggest meet ever with teams coming from various locations in England, as well as a large Scottish team, and a team from Italy. Our largest ever team of deputies and officials helped it all run pretty smoothly. The meet was held in our usual venue at Culford School, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Our thanks to the staff there who allow us back several times a year, despite their bewilderment at our sport! The event had a broad range of both experienced and novice lifters new to the platform, and that’s partly what makes our meets so special: friendly, welcoming, with clubs cheering on their own members but also their competitors. Ipswich are very proud to be hosts to this sporting atmosphere.
