We care very much that the rules of the Kettlebell Pentathlon are strictly adhered to, so that a competitor’s score will truly hold meaning. We asked for a few points to be clarified, and Valery Fedorenko came back to us with these coaching points;
* Cleans, just like every other exercise, have a moment of fixation, not just touch and go. The athlete needs to get the bell into rack position and pause the bell there with no movement: legs extended, arm in rack, and freeze.
* Push Press means a press where the heels are kept on the ground. If the heel raises it becomes a jerk.
* Press means no leg use at all.
I hope your training is going well. I have been resting a sprained wrist, but I will be back in the gym tomorrow, working on cleans.
